Three of these tapes, so I'll start with the weakest. Not from Memphis proper, but nearby Tunica, MS, which I'm happy to say stretches the unfairly confined regional focus of this spotty blog. I've kindly spared you the 40 minutes of silence resulting from TW3 using the wrong length tape. But hey, whatever gets the package off the couch.
"Smoke One" is the highlight for me and its possible I'm easy to please in this regard. Tommy raps on the side B opener, "Robbery", listen to that one, assuming yall listen to what you download.
My parents have a beast of an internet connection. Its unfortunate that my records are in a storage space in South San Francisco, I could blaze through ripping here. And someone with more patience, more poise than myself should try to cop the Lil Tino cassette from the Ebay store and share its contents. I vote for poster Rob to take this task up.

I have the Lil Tino cassette rip in MP3 format, but it needs to be mastered. If anybody know's how to clean it up & let it sound good like these tapes give me a shout!

I would love to help share this stuff! I need to find a good tape player. I only listen to these tapes in my 98 toyota corrola, which has a very good stock tape player. What tape player do you use to rip this stuff? I've never done it. Guess what!? I just came back from San Francisco! I should've gave you a holler and thanked you in person for EVERYTHING. I was there for Budget Rock Fest. I'm hoping to go again next year.
What I really need to rip is the Memphis Massacre Mixtape. But I feel for Mr. Tommy Wright. Maybe we should only upload a few songs, then if the person likes the tape, they can go to Tommy's ebay page and buy the tape.

I have a shitty Realistic brand cassette player I bought off of CL for 10 bucks. It sounds good though because I maintain it with a demagnetizer and head cleaner. Demagging is the key to preserving your tapes and players! I rip straight to my Macbook.
I don't feel for Tommy. I've seen how weak his grind is.
Also, whats up with Memphis Underworld? I downloaded a copy of DJ Fela "We Comin" upped by them and I can't figure out the password.

No offence to Tommy 3, but that Memphis Massacre Mixtape is such a disappointment in my opinion. The only song I liked from that tape was 'Pushin Poweder'... Everything else was degrading for such a talanted artist like himself.
and also he needs to put out some new shit. He told me in an email that he doesn't want to rap without getting paid, thats why he's not rapping. So its like he's waiting for something. Go on tour mayne, you got fans across the world. Make music, find a label. Too much talent, not enough grind.
I did mention to him that he should go on tour. I told him that there's a bunch of fans in Germany and Russia. He said he'd like to go there and "show them love." I don't know if it's gonna happen though. He's probably just comfortable with whatever day job he's doing. It was a long time ago when he was rapping and it's hard to get into that shit again when you're older. Kinda like how when some bands try and do reunion shows. They just don't have the same energy like they did when they were young. He did say something about a 10 wanted men album in that cribs video. I don't know man....
