The Other B-Low

B-Low
Ski Mask Over My Evil Grin
(2001, ????)

Thug rap's most underrated outsider and cocaine's greatest contribution to society since Fleetwood Mac's Tusk.

I fished this out of BotM's bottomless well and its been on laptop repeat ever since. Insane style, insane artwork, insane placement of cuss words like "goddammit".

I haven't been able to find any actual words written about this guy or hints about his background or label info, etc.. Someone needs to unveil this geek'd up funkytown freak.

Hilites include "Funkyville", "Ten Toes Down" and the title track.

B-Low is my fuckin name / and I'm on that fuckin funk / Roastin, Toastin all u hoes / Goddammit keep it crunk / Muthafuckin nose froze / Goddammit Ten Toes / Muthafuckin Jane Dos / Nuthin but sum Ana Hoe

There was a B-Low in the Dirty States of America DVD, if I'm not mistaken. I also believe this guy use to run or help run down-south.com in the late 90's...

Man, I'll have to check my copy for him.. seems more likely the other Bee-low, even if spelt wrong, but we'll see... as for the down-south connection, hopefully there is a data trail there

Nah, I'm very familiar with the BR Beelow. There was another cat on DVD from Tennessee I think, it was a nervous looking white guy. I think thats why he had the mask on the album cover, to try and not be "boxed in" b/c of his race, but I believe this guy name was B-Low. I'll have to watch it again.

I'm confused. Was that him?? If not, my fault, I was half-way right though.

Sh1t is funny though, name that obscure-ass down-south rapper.

It would help if google distinguished between "B-low" and "blow"

If you put quotes around b-low like "b-low" it shouldn't include blow in the searches.

There is some information about him in the comment section of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-VhprdL5ho My down-south.com angle is corroborated by one of the commenters. This was years ago when down-south.com had real player files, and probably four owners ago...

He had an ebay store too, where he was basically selling off everything involved w/ down-south.com rare c.d.'s, posters, cd envelopes, bubble mailers, etc...

haha, now we're gettin somewhere. B-low aka Mista B-Low aka G-Real, from down-south.com, from Dirty States...

the Fleetwood Mac reference was enough to get me to waste my Rapidshare points on this. Big fan of the blog in general... but this better live up to that comparison. For the record, Sylvester's "I Need Somebody to Love Tonight" is cocaine's greatest contribution to music. ON his STARS lp for quick finding.

okay... definitely not disappointed. just as good as Bottom Posse and E-Mill. I crave this type of synth hip-hop.
